Hi guys! I hope you had / are having a good day, despite recent events. I don’t plan on going into detail because I prefer to keep politics off of my blog, but I have hope that we’ll get through it. ❤
Anyway, that’s all I want to say about that. On Monday I was contacted by the lovely Jaye, the marketing manager and publicist for Candy Atkins, author of The Lost Knight series. You might remember that I was sent the first book over the summer in exchange for an honest review, and I ended up falling in love with it. (If you so choose, you can read my review for it here.) I actually wasn’t aware, but the sequel, The Lost Girl, comes out on November 20th. I’m very excited for it, and was even more excited when Jaye offered to let me take part in the cover reveal! Of course, I accepted, and so that’s what I’m bringing you today.
ado, let’s get into the fun stuff! 😉
In case you didn’t know, the cover for the first book looks like this:
And here’s the synopsis, courtesy of Goodreads:
How am I supposed to save the world when I’m not strong, not brave, not smart, and not particularly good at most things? I ran away from home the day after my thirteenth birthday when Auntie and her weird friend attacked me. Now I’m on the run with the Grim Reaper and a scary soldier. And I’m no longer on Earth. They were expecting me to be a Knight. The savior that’s supposed to stop a war and prevent the invasion to Earth. But I’m not. They grabbed the wrong girl. I just don’t know how to tell them.
I’ll be honest: when I first started reading, I didn’t expect much. But it’s an absolutely amazing YA indie fantasy, and if you haven’t read it, I highly recommend you do. 😀
Then there’s the synopsis for The Lost Girl, which only has me more excited to read it:
Warning: contains minor spoilers for the first book!
If Stratagor Ziras doesn’t kill me, my training program will!
Every day I wake up and go through the motions, but they’ve figured out that I’m not a Knight. I can’t ride, I can’t fight, I can’t do magic, and worst of all, I can’t see whatever it is I’m supposed to see in this stupid Orb.
Nothing is what it seems here. Everyone says they want what’s best for me, but who can I trust? The lying snake? The feathery crocodile trying to lock me away? The Queen who wants me dead? Or the devil himself?
I don’t know what I’m more afraid of—the enemies that have made several attempts on my life, or my allies now that they know they’ve made a huge a mistake.
End of synopsis.
If you want to, you can visit/follow/friend Candy on the following social media! 🙂
Don’t worry, I didn’t forget about the actual cover. I just wanted to extend the excitement for as long as possible. 😛
And here’s the cover!
ISN’T IT GORGEOUS?!?! *infinite heart eyes*
Sorry, I’m kind of in love. 😉
Seriously, though, that has to be one of the most beautiful covers I’ve ever seen.
Now for the best part… the giveaway! One (very lucky) person will win a signed paperback copy of both books! *balloons*
And that wraps up this post!
Have you read The Lost Knight? Do you want to read it? If you have read it, what did you think? Will you be reading The Lost Girl when it comes out? I’d love to know! Tell me in the comments! 🙂
I’m off to continue reading Gathering Darkness and play some Super Mario 3D World before bed. 🙂 I hope you all have a fabulous day/night! ❤
Until next time…
