My Monday Musings #14 – Possibly My Shortest Post Yet (Not By Choice)

Hi guys! So once again, it’s been nearly a week since I posted, and once again, it wasn’t intentional. I’ve been very busy, and not by choice, for sure.

I hope your Monday has been as good as Mondays can be! ๐Ÿ™‚

2 things have been controlling my life recently:

1) My research paper. A couple of weeks ago I was assigned a 7-8 page research paper (well, my class was, not just me), as you all know from last week. So far the deadlines have just been small chunks of research, easy to complete, but this Friday a huge, final chunk is due and I’m so overwhelmed. Plus, next week we have to have a completed works cited page and outline, and in mid-November I’ll have to give my speech. I haven’t even been procrastinating โ€”ย I’ve actually been working aheadย โ€” and everything is coming up so quickly. People wonder why I don’t procrastinate, and this is why. >.<

(Also, I’ve been wondering if this was set to start in mid-October so that we’d be working on it around Halloween. You know, because it’s horrifying.)

(I’m not good at jokes.)

2) Trying to find time for everything else. My workload hasn’t been light, so I’ve been trying to fit other things in between being productive. Reading, blogging, playing games, that sort of thing. I anticipated less free time when this school year started, but I didn’t realize just how much less was coming. o.O

And on that note…

We Are Still Tornadoes by Michael Kun & Susan Mullen!

I was sent an ARC (advanced reader copy, in case anyone reading didn’t know) by Griffin Teen in exchange for an honest review. I started it last night, not expecting much, ย and I’m already halfway through. It’s a quick, fun read, told through letters between the two main characters. It reminds me of Eleanor & Park and Fangirl, both by Rainbow Rowell, so I’ve started thinking of this book as their love child. XD I mean, it’s set in the 1980’s and involves two college-age characters, so it fits.

(The book releases on November 1st!)

And yesterday afternoon I finished reading Rebel Spring, the second book in the Falling Kingdoms series. It was such a good sequel, and I’ll be writing my review as soon as this post goes up. It will most likely be a mini review because I don’t have a lot of time anymore, but regardless, you can expect that to come Wednesday. ๐Ÿ™‚

So, yeah… I can’t think of much else to say, to be honest. I’m still in an emotional slump, and I’ve recently rediscovered my love for cherry-flavored Tootsie Pops. (fairly big lollipops with a chewy chocolate candy in the center, in case you don’t know / they aren’t in your country) I’m still not sure if I want to make a Tumblr, and this erratic posting will probably last until my research paper is all said and done. That’s about it.

And that wraps up this post!

What are you currently reading? Do you plan on reading We Are Still Tornadoes when it comes out? What’s been going on in your life? What’s your favorite candy? I’d love to know! Tell me in the comments!ย ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m off to write my review for Rebel Spring and hopefully read a bit more of WAST. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I hope you all have a fabulous day/night! โค

Until next time…

  1. I’m reading Siege & Storm. I’ve never heard of WAST but it sounds interesting from what you said! Really all that’s been going on in my life is getting ready for surgery (ugh), school (a lot of it), dance, bookstagram, and trying to fit reading in. My favourite candy is lollipops/gum. (Does gum count?)
