My Monday Musings #8 – Two Books & Too Much Homework

Hi guys! I’m home sick from school today, which is never fun, but at least I can do a lot of reading and blogging. Right now my kitten is asleep on top of my legs and it’s not super comfortable, but I don’t have the heart to move her. πŸ˜›

MMM

One huge thing happened this week, and if you don’t know what I’m talking about, I’m not sure how. XD Empire of Storms came out on Tuesday! This was the first time I had to wait the full year for a new SJM book, and when I got home I was ecstatic to see the package waiting for me. I dove right in, and I’m currently around the 500-page mark. It was everything I wanted and more, and even though I just want to devour the last 200 or so pages, I also want to savor it. The next book (and last, omg) won’t be out until next September, and I’ve heard a few people say the ending destroyed them. So, I guess I have something to look forward to..? I have no idea, to be honest, but I know I’ll hopefully finish it off today. πŸ˜€

Last night I finished Last Sacrifice, which means I’ve finally finished the entirety of the Vampire Academy. It definitely deserves the #10 spot on my all time favorite series list, and if you haven’t read it yet, you should. It’s so unique and amazing and heartbreaking. Honestly, this last book healed my heart after the previous three books destroyed it repeatedly. I have Bloodlines ready as soon as I finish EOS, and I hope it’s just as fantastic. My review for LS will be up later today, so keep an eye out for that! πŸ™‚

And just because I feel like it, here’s the series, from my favorite to least favorite:

  • Shadow Kiss (#3)
  • Blood Promise (#4)
  • Last Sacrifice (#6)
  • Spirit Bound (#5)
  • Frostbite (#2)
  • Vampire Academy (#1)

Also, I just want to say that I think I always manage to get the most homework when a book I really want to read comes out. I don’t know how or why, but it’s not cool. XD

The last thing I want to mention is that I cleaned my room yesterday, and I’m really happy with it. The process wasn’t fun, but I’m really happy with the end result. I also reorganized my bookshelf a bit, so a little tour might go up on my Instagram stories soon! πŸ™‚

And that wraps up this post!

What are you currently reading? Have you read Empire of Storms, or Vampire Academy? Has anything fun happened to you this week? I’d love to know! Tell me in the comments! πŸ™‚

I’m off to write my LS review and keep reading EOS. πŸ˜‰ I hope you all have a fabulous day/night! ❀

Until next time…
