My Monday Musings #6 – Les Livres Je Suis Branchée (AKA I’m Obsessed With French)

Hi guys! I’m done with homework and a bit overwhelmed with my impending doom (read: so many quizzes), so I’m writing this as both my Monday post and a way for me to relax. 😉

MMM

Unless you’re either French (which is super cool!) or know how to speak French (as I’m learning to), you probably have no idea what part of the title means. The rough translation is, “I am knowledgeable about books.” I’m not sure of the exact translation, but you get the gist. There’s also another way to translate, so it would mean, “Books I plugged,” but that doesn’t make sense. Either way, though, the general phrase is very accurate for both me and my blog, which is why it’s the title of this post. 😉

Okay, okay, I’m also obsessed with French. Last week I learned the alphabet and basic emotions and today I learned to count to 60. I want to say everything in French, but since I don’t know the whole language I’m just sliding it in when I can. DON’T JUDGE ME. XD

And on the topic of school, it’s kind of overwhelming right now. It’s only the start of my third week back, and I have this to look forward to:

  • Math quiz
  • History map quiz
  • History test
  • English vocab test
  • Science quiz
  • French quiz
  • Math test

All of that is sometime this week or early next week. I was expecting a fast pace by signing up for honors classes, but I think just the number of big grades in quick succession is what’s getting to me. >.<

BUT ANYWAY let’s talk about something else. I don’t brain after 4 pm during the week. 😛

I’m currently reading P.S. I Like You by Kasie West. I just started it yesterday afternoon and am a little halfway through. It’s so cute and fun, and I love everything about it. It’s honestly just what I need after Blood Promise. If all of Kasie’s books are as good as this one, I’ll definitely need to check out her other fluffy books. 😀

If you know me at all, you know I’m obsessed with Bea Miller. I blast her album nearly every time I write a blog post, every time I’m in the car, and basically any other time I feel like it. Well, a few days ago the music video for her new single Yes Girl came out, and I’m in love. One of her songs is in the back of my mind at any given time, and right now it’s this one. I would put the video in this post, but I’m not sure how copyright works for this stuff, so just watch it on YouTube instead. 🙂

I’ve shuffled Bea’s album on YouTube twice now, and I think I’ve run out of things to write about, so I’ll wrap up this week’s MMM here. 😉

What are you currently reading? Do you like reading fluffy books? Do you like Bea Miller as well? I’d love to know! Tell me in the comments! 🙂

I’m going to read a bit more and officially end my Monday on a good note. 🙂 I hope you all have a fabulous day/night! ❤

Until next time…

  1. I love French, too! I started reading novels this summer and borrowed a book from my teacher to go through over the year. Hope your quizzes and exams go well! I have a history test this week, too 😲

  2. I’ve never taken French lessons so I only know how to count and say some basic words but I love languages so I’d like to know more 🙈 I can understand written French cause it’s some words are kinda similar to Portuguese, but spoken French I can’t understand anything 😂

  3. When I was learning french I was obsessed with it as well! And then I realized my teacher was pretty bad at his job and I only learned a fraction of what I should have. Oh well, someday I’ll pick it up again I’m sure.

Have you read Die for Me by Amy Plum? It’s a paranormal book set in France and it’s pretty fluffy (even though there are dead people coming back to life haha) and I think you’d enjoy it.
