My 10 All-Time Favorite Series!

Hi guys! I’ve been doing a lot of reviews lately, so I thought I would change it up and write a more fun, lighthearted post. Today I’ll be talking about my 10 all-time favorite series! πŸ™‚

10 all-time favs

I’ve talked about my favorites here and there, but I don’t think I’ve ever made a full list of my top 10. This will be interesting. πŸ˜‰

This list is specifically for series, and I’m using the term loosely. If you’d like to see my favorite stand-alones, or my favorites of a specific genre, or anything else, let me know! These are fun and I’d love to make more. πŸ™‚

So without further ado, let’s get into my list!

10. The Goddess Test by AimΓ©e Carter

underrated tgt

I love Greek mythology, and I especially love the story of Persephone. The whole trilogy is a modern retelling of that myth, and it’s just amazing. πŸ˜€

9. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

I can’t believe there was ever a time when I didn’t want to read this. A heist in one of my favorite fantasy worlds, with lovable, morally gray characters, witty banter, and so many ships; what’s not to love? πŸ˜€

8. Lux by Jennifer L. Armentrout

obsidian review

Since I never really got into Twilight, I think this was the first paranormal romance I ever read. I mean, the main characters are a book blogger and an arrogant alien.Β I’m very good with unintentional alliterations, apparently. And the aliens in this series weren’t the stupid short things with three eyes and green skin. They were unique andΒ interesting. πŸ˜›

7. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Spoiler alert: this is the only contemporary on the list. I’ll admit, it doesn’t have the best plot, but the characters are lovable and quirky and the romance is adorable. Everyone needs a fluffy story every once in a while (more than that, in my case) and of all the ones I’ve read, this is my favorite. πŸ™‚

6. Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

This is definitely the most recent addition to the list. But it definitely deserves a spot, because I gave all three books five stars. These books were my introduction to the psychological thriller genre, and they definitely gave me very high standards for any others I might read. Also, Noah Shaw. πŸ˜‰

5. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

I love all of Rick’s books, but this series will always have a special place in my heart. Mainly for nostalgic reasons, since I first picked up the first book eight years ago and it was what got me into reading, but also because it’s just amazing. I don’t think any explanation beyond that is needed. πŸ™‚

4. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

I originally read the first book when I was nine or ten, and thought it was cool. A few years later I reread it and adored it, and had to track down the rest. Winter was one of my most anticipated releases of 2015. I mean, this series is a bunch of fairy-tale retellings, but in a futuristic world. That’s so cool! And unique. πŸ˜€

3. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

I love all of the books in the Shadowhunter Chronicles, but I think almost everyone can agree that Tessa, Will, and Jem stole our hearts just a little more than Clary, Jace, and Simon or Emma and Julian ever did. πŸ˜‰

Anyone that’s surprised by these last two must be new to my blog, just saying. So in that case, hi, I’m Olivia. πŸ™‚

2. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

I know there are a lot of mixed feelings with this series, but I just adore it. I don’t think any more explanations are necessary. πŸ˜‰

And finally… (I doubt this will surprise anyone…)

1. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

The only reason this series topped Throne of Glass is because I think this was a stronger first book. TOG was a strong start to the series, yeah, but it was sort of like The Hunger Games – we knew Celaena would win, just like we knew Katniss would. I don’t think anyone could’ve guessed how ACOTAR ended. πŸ˜‰

What are some of your all-time favorite series? Do we have any in common? Are there any on this list you haven’t read yet? I’d love to know! Tell me in the comments! πŸ™‚

And that wraps up this post!

I’m off to have breakfast and binge-read Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead. πŸ™‚ I hope you all have a fabulous day/night! ❀

Until next time…

  1. Sarah J Maas is a auto-buy for me and I love her books to death! I think both series’ would also make it onto my top ten series list, were I to make one. Percy Jackson would probably make it on there, too.

    Great post!

    1. I agree! Sarah is my all-time favorite author! πŸ˜€ I almost forgot to include Percy Jackson, but then I remembered and had to include it in my top 5. πŸ˜‰ And thanks! ❀

  2. Ooo, I loved Anna and obviously the two Sarah J. Maas series’! I also really need to read the last books in both the Mara Dyer Trilogy and the Lunar Chronicles!! Can you believe that I have never actually read a Cassandra Clare book (that she wrote on her own!) … I keep meaning to and then I don’t grab a copy and its just … -.-
