My Monday Musings #3 – Endings Are Bittersweet

Hi guys! This week’s MMM is going up a bit later than usual, but I had a busy morning. Nonetheless, I’m here with it now, and I have a few things to talk about! 🙂

So, as my title says, endings are bittersweet. What brought this on? A couple of things did.

1. As soon as this post goes up, I’m going to be starting The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin. This is the last book in the Mara Dyer trilogy, and I’m both excited to see what happens and sad it’s going to be over. I think this is the fastest I’ve ever read a series of any length, and for good reason. These books are addictive. Like with many other books, I want to speed through it so I know what happens, but I also want to slow down and savor it because it’s the end. This is especially a dilemma because of the cliffhanger at the end of the second book. I can’t say anything more because of spoilers (read it!) but if you’ve read it, you’ll know. Being a bookworm is challenging, guys. 😛

2. I got my school schedule today, because my first day of the new year is next week. Like everyone else, I don’t want summer to end, although I’m sure my reasons are different than others’. XD But I’ve always been one of those people that kind of looks forward to a new school year, because I’ve always loved learning. Granted, I’m not a fan of finals or essays or hours of homework, but I love to learn new things. Except in books. I don’t read non-fiction unless it’s for an assignment, because reading is an escape. So with summer coming to an end, I’m at war with myself again. Do I want to go back to school? Do I not? I don’t know. ← a summary of my thoughts at this point every year. 0_O

So yeah, endings are always bittersweet, basically. But that’s not all for this post, because something exciting also happened this weekend! 😀

If you follow me on any social media, you’ll know what I’m talking about. I haven’t shut up about it and I have 0 regrets.

That was a zero, by the way. My computer is just weird and doesn’t distinguish a zero and a lowercase o very well.

But anyway, if you haven’t seen yet, here you go!

me w pink

I got a pink streak in my hair! I’ve never dyed my hair before, and I’m so happy with it! I’m not counting that temporary colored hairspray that was all the rage in elementary school. It took a few hours, but I’m fine with that. A bit of time a day once a month to have something I love so much is worth it to me! The only trouble I’m having is deciding what color I’ll do when I go back next month. Between my own ideas and Pinterest, I have about a million ideas for colors, both plain and ombré. Being a diva is also hard, guys. XD

Oh, and one more thing! I haven’t been watching a lot of YouTube because I’ve been reading, but there has been one exception: Cooking with Kat! If you don’t know, CwK is a fun little series Kat from Katytastic has been doing on her vlog channel. And I’m obsessed! She was already one of my favorite BookTubers, and now she does this, so it’s even more to watch! If you haven’t seen those videos yet, you should check them out! 😀

And that wraps up this week’s MMM!

What are you currently reading? When do you go back to school? Who are your favorite YouTubers to watch? I’d love to know! 🙂

I’m off to watch the latest episode of CwK and start The Retribution of Mara Dyer. 😀 I hope you all have a fabulous day/night! ❤

Until next time…

HOG post end

Come visit me! 😀
