May Wrap-Up + Haul & June TBR

Hi guys! I can’t believe it’s June and that 2016 is nearly half over, but I’m not going to complain; it’s summer and my birthday is this month! 😀

But, I’m getting sidetracked. In this post I’ll be sharing the books I read in May, the books I obtained in May, and what I hope to read in June. This month will also include my BookCon haul, which will make it longer than usual, so I won’t include a blog section (14 posts in May) or life section. I might start doing weekly wrap-ups again for that. 😉

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get into this! 🙂

May Wrap-Up

I read a total of 7 books in May, which I’m pretty happy with since I had finals last month as well. 😉

1. Tiger’s Curse by Colleen Houck — 4¾ out of 5 stars

2. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas — 5 out of 5 stars

3. Oblivion by Jennifer L. Armentrout — 5 out of 5 stars

4. Schism by Britt Holewinski — 5 out of 5 stars

5. The Loose Ends List by Carrie Firestone — DNF — 1½ out of 5 stars

6. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor (sampler) — 4¾ out of 5 stars (no review)

7. The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan — 5 out of 5 stars

My favorite book last month was definitely ACOMAF, but my three other 5 star reads are close behind. I just had a great reading month in May! 😀 *balloons* *eats cookies*

This puts me at 41% for my Goodreads challenge, or 41 out of 100 books. I lowered my goal so it wouldn’t become stressful. 🙂

May Haul

I acquired 55± books in May, and all but one of them came from BookCon or Chicago in general. I also got a bunch of book swag and 45± ebooks, because they were all free. I won’t be including any of that in the list though, because it would take too long. XD

1. Schism by Britt Holewinski (Untitled #1) — I was sent a copy for review by the author. 🙂 [read]

2. H2O by Virginia Bergin (The Rain #1) [unread]

3. Kids of Appetite by David Arnold — ARC [unread]

4. The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead (The Glittering Court #1) [unread]

5. And The Trees Crept In by Dawn Kurtagich — ARC [unread]

6. The Loose Ends List by Carrie Firestone — ARC [read]

7. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor (sampler) — ARC, sort of [read]

8. Hollow City by Ransom Riggs (Miss Peregrine’s #2) [unread]

9. The Wish by E.V. Jones (Cloverleaf Chronicles #1) [read]

10. The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan (Trials of Apollo #1) [read]

11. 45± ebooks — I found a bunch of YA books for free on my Kindle, and downloaded all of them. I’m not sure there’s exactly 45, it’s just an estimate. I have no idea what any of them are about though. I just saw an opportunity for free books and I took it. XD

This month’s haul might also be decent-sized, because my birthday is coming up later this month. 😀

June TBR

June TBR

I have 51 books I could read this month, but I don’t want to overwhelm myself, so I’m aiming for 6. Hopefully I can get through more, but if I can’t, it’s no big deal. 😉

1. Blackheath by Gabriella Lepore (The Blackheath Witches #1) — This ebook was actually on my TBR last month and I didn’t get to it, so I want to this month. 😉

2. H2O by Virginia Bergin (The Rain #1) — I’ve heard mixed reviews for this, but it sounds interesting and I’ll be buddy reading it with my sister. I may or may not finish it this month though, because she’s a slower reader. 😛

3. Kids of Appetite by David Arnold — I got an ARC at BookCon and am excited to read it, because David is a nice, funny guy. 😀

4. The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead (The Glittering Court #1) — I got a finished copy at BookCon and am excited to read it because I’ve heard so much about Richelle’s books. I haven’t read Vampire Academy or Bloodlines yet, so this will be my introduction to her work. I hope I like it, because she’s really sweet. 😀

5. And The Trees Crept In by Dawn Kurtagich — This sort of book is out of my comfort zone because it’s a horror book, but I got an ARC and am excited to give it a try. 😉

6. Hollow City by Ransom Riggs (Miss Peregrine’s #2) — I really enjoyed Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, so I’m excited to continue the trilogy. 😀

I think I’m the most excited about Hollow City, just because I can say I’m continuing another series. 😀 *balloons*

And that’s all for this post!

How many books did you read in May? What was your favorite? How many books did you buy? What are you most excited to read this month? I’d love to know! 🙂

I’m off to either start a new book or do some more painting. I hope you’re all having a magnificent day/night! ❤

Make sure to check out my giveaway for three copies of Schism by Britt Holewinski! 😉

Until next time…
