April Wrap-Up + Haul & May TBR

Hi guys! I kind of can’t believe it’s May already. But I’m not going to complain, because there are only about 16 days left of school, and I leave for Chicago in a week and a half! ๐Ÿ˜€

But anyway, that’s not the point of this post. I’m here to share the books I read in April, the books I obtained in April, and the books I hope to read in May! There won’t be a blog section (13 posts in April) or a life section, because not much has happened. (Also, this post will probably be long enough without me rambling about my life, haha.)

So without further ado, let’s get into it! ๐Ÿ™‚

April Wrap-Up

wrap up

I read a total of 6 books in April. I think that makes it my worst of the year so far, but I’m still happy. I got to read, didn’t I? ๐Ÿ˜‰

1. Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennanย โ€” 3 out of 5 stars

2. Tell The Wind and Fire by Sarah Rees Brennanย โ€” 4ยพ out of 5 stars

3. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maasย โ€” 5 out of 5 stars

4. The Infinite Sea by Rick Yanceyย โ€” 2 out of 5 stars

5. A Darker Shade of Sorcery by William Collinsย โ€” 3 out of 5 stars

6. To Hear The Ocean Sigh by Bryant A. Loneyย โ€” 4 out of 5 stars

My favorite read this month was definitely ACOTAR. *heart eyes emoji*

This puts me at 26% for my Goodreads challenge, or 34 out of 130 books. ๐Ÿ™‚

April Haul

I somehow managed to acquire 9 books in April. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

1. The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey (The 5th Wave #1)ย โ€” This is actually the only book I bought. ๐Ÿ˜‰ [read]

2. Tell The Wind and Fire by Sarah Rees Brennanย โ€” I won this in a giveaway on the publisher’s Instagram. ๐Ÿ˜€ [read]

3. A Darker Shade of Sorcery by William Collins (The Realmers #1)ย โ€” I was sent a Kindle copy for review by the author. ๐Ÿ˜€ *noisemaker emoji* [read]

4. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs (Miss Peregrine’s #1)ย โ€” I was given a special edition by a friend of mine. ๐Ÿ™‚ [read]

5. Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson #1)ย โ€” A gift from the same friend. ๐Ÿ™‚ [read]

6. Symptoms of Being Human by Jeff Garvinย โ€” A gift from the same friend. ๐Ÿ™‚ [read]

7. Revenge and the Wild by Michelle Modestoย โ€” A gift from the same friend. ๐Ÿ™‚ [unread]

8. Kingdom of Ashes by Rhiannon Thomas (A Wicked Thing #2)ย โ€” A gift from the same friend. ๐Ÿ™‚ [unread]

9. To Hear The Ocean Sigh by Bryant A. Loneyย โ€” I was sent a Kindle copy for review by the publisher. ๐Ÿ˜€ [read]

I thought I would be good in April and get very few or no books, but this happened anyway. XD I can’t wait to see how many books I get at BookCon! *heart eyes emoji*

I’m hoping to read 5 books this month. Ideally it would be more, but I want to have a lenient goal because I don’t know what I’ll get at BookCon. ๐Ÿ˜‰

1. Tiger’s Curse by Colleen Houck (The Tiger Saga #1)ย โ€” I just started this last night and I love it! I’m only 53 pages in though. ๐Ÿ˜€

2. Oblivion by Jennifer L. Armentrout (Lux #1.5)ย โ€” I bought this e-book on sale for $1 in February (I think) and haven’t gotten around to it. ๐Ÿ˜ณ I’m really excited to, though, because I love Lux and this is the first three books in Daemon’s POV! ๐Ÿ˜€

3. Blackheath by Gabriella Lepore (The Blackheath Witches #1)ย โ€” I bought this e-book the same day as Oblivion and haven’t read it either. ๐Ÿ˜ณ It sounds interesting, though. ๐Ÿ˜‰

4. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas (A Court of Thorns and Roses #2)ย โ€” This doesn’t even come out until Tuesday, but I pre-ordered it yesterday. I’m putting whatever I might be reading at the time on hold until I finish this, once it gets to me. ๐Ÿ˜‰

5. The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan (The Trials of Apollo #1)ย โ€” This doesn’t come out until Tuesday either, but I really want to read it. I probably won’t get it on release day, but my goal is to just get it by the end of the month. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m definitely the most excited about ACOMAF. I want it now! XD *heart eyes emoji*

And that’s all for this post! ๐Ÿ™‚

How many books did you read in April? What was your favorite? How many did you buy? What are you most excited to read this month? I’d love to know! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m off to eat breakfast and continue reading Tiger’s Curse. I hope you all have a great day/night! โค

Until next time…

  1. I’m so enamored with your reading choices for April. I’ve been wanting to read a S.R. Brennan book and, from the looks of it, will not be starting with Unspoken. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ACOTAR is one of those books that I cannot seem to get around to reading. It’s still way down my TBR. Are you thinking I should move it up?

    1. There was romance, but I didn’t think it was overwhelming. I loved that it was a Beauty and the Beast retelling but in a world of Fae, and the main character Feyre is epic. I could go on. XD
