I was tagged a few days ago by Mariana @ fireheartbooks to do this. Thanks Mariana! 😀
This tag is pretty self-explanatory, so I’m just going to get straight to it. 😉
1 // A popular book or series that you didn’t like.
If I Stay by Gayle Forman.
2 // A popular book or series that everyone seems to hate but you love.
I’m not really sure on this one. Maybe The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan, because even though it’s not super popular, I think it’s the least-liked series he’s written. It’s been a few years since I read the trilogy, but I don’t really get why. Carter and Sadie are great and funny in their own way.
3 // A love triangle where the main character ended up with the person you didn’t want them to end up with.
This hasn’t happened to me *yet*.
4 // A popular genre you hardly reach for.
I don’t read very much historical fiction or horror, and I’m not into classics either. I prefer the normal fantasy, sci-fi, dystopian, and contemporary. And retellings. 😀
5 // A popular or beloved character that you didn’t like.
I don’t know if she’s considered popular or beloved, but I didn’t really like Lola from Lola and The Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins. She was whiny and caused a lot of her own problems. I also didn’t like Kaden in The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson. At first I preferred him, but after his role was revealed I couldn’t stand him (although he’s still a strong character).
6 // A popular author that you don’t seem to get into.
Gayle Forman.
7 // A popular book trope that you’re tired of seeing.
The first thing that popped into my head was that female leads need to have pants and a weapon to be strong (or something like that). Or that “strong” female leads can’t have a diva-y or sensitive side. I’m not sure if that counts as a trope, but it irritates me. (I mean, look at all the ladies in the Throne of Glass series.)
8 // A popular series that you have no interest in reading.
I can’t think of any…
9 // The saying is, “The book is always better than the movie,” but what movie or tv adaptation do you prefer rather than the book?
At the moment, there aren’t any. I think the Harry Potter and The Hunger Games movies are pretty good, and The 5th Wave looks promising. So does Shadowhunters. 😀
I tag anyone who wants to do this, because I’m not sure who has already. 🙂
That’s all for today! I’ll have a library haul up tomorrow. 😀
Until next time- Olivia ❤
ooh I think I might do this! nice answers 🙂

Great answers 🙂 have you read The Heart of Betrayal? My opinion on both Kaden and Rafe changed in it. I started finding Kaden really interesting and Rafe rather boring XD

I’m completely opposite in that I LOVE Kaden. He’s so much better. I really want him to be Lia’s end goal.😝 And a great post btw!

Thanks! 😀 I haven’t read The Heart of Betrayal yet so that’s why I like Rafe. That could change when I do. 😉 Have you read it?
